Specialist Restorative Consultant – BSc (Hons),BDS (Bristol), MFDS RCS, FDS (Restorative Dentistry) RCSEd, FHEA (Plymouth)
I qualified in dentistry at Bristol University in 1999 and completed my Fellowship in Restorative Dentistry in 2006 (Royal College Surgeons, Edinburgh). I provide management of patients with head and neck cancer and developmental disorders. My specialist interests include multidisciplinary care of patients with orthodontic-restorative needs and the rehabilitation of cancer patients with dental implants. As the Managed Clinical Network chair in Restorative Dentistry for the Southwest I am developing a network across the region to help provide specialist services to all patients and improve quality of care.
I have a passion for education. I am clinical lead for the Exeter Education Facility and Associate Professor in Clinical Education in Plymouth University. I have played an active role in the development of the dental virtual patient a tool to develop treatment planning skills and I am responsible for the implant dentistry modules for the postgraduate cert/diploma/masters in Restorative Dentistry and Periodontology. I am the Training Program Director for Restorative Dentistry in the Southwest and Honorary Secretary of the British Society for Restorative Dentistry both of which allow me to share my enthusiasm for my specialty.
After spending over 10 years in hotel management I moved back to Devon and started working as a receptionist in a Specialist dental centre in 2003.
Over the following years I worked up to practice management and in 2015 I was approached by Peter Davis to join his practice and given 2 objectives; firstly to manage the practice on a day to day basis and secondly to help develop Spring Hill into the dynamic general and Specialist dental practice it has now become.
With the support of my fantastic team I am looking forward to the exciting future that lies ahead for Spring Hill Dental Practice.
